The Thamesmead Travelling Cinema is currently based at the Lakeside Centre, SE2 9AN. We are an outdoor, mobile cinema open all year round! Don’t forget to BYO blanket for warmth! The Thamesmead Texas bar is open from 5:30pm, serving hot food and music. Come early to reserve your seat! Last admission at 7:15pm for a 7:30pm screening. We create this atmosphere through close working relationship with each artist/ filmmaker, tapping into their first-hand knowledge of their respective culture, through exploration of cinema, cuisine and music. Thamesmead Travelling Cinema is a volunteer led community Cinema serving Thamesmead and beyond.
LOCATION / DIRECTIONS
The Thamesmead Travelling Cinema is currently based at the Lakeside Centre, 2 Bazalgette Way, Thamesmead, SE2 9AN. The Lakeside Centre is a gated building, which can be accessed from the street located between The Link and the lakeside public parking lot.
Thamesmead can be accessed via Abbey Wood train station – is two stops East of Woolwich and 30 minutes East of London Bridge. Walking distance from Abbey Wood train station to Lakeside Centre is 15 minutes. If driving, parking is available for free. Closest bus stop: Newacres Library, bus route 177, 301, 401. Please ensure you factor travel/ walk time into your journey planning.

Buying a ticket supports The Thamesmead Travelling Cinema present affordable film programming and support local entrepreneurs. The Thamesmead Texas Travelling Cinema is a 25-seater mobile outdoor community cinema made from reused materials, built in partnership with local craftsman Alex J Tuckwood.
