We are artists with part time day jobs, who operate The Thamesmead Travelling Community Cinema on a seasonal and voluntary basis. Our business model is based on charitable aims – this means that everything we earn goes back into the survival of our community cinema. As we are in the first year of operation, we are wavering our Curation and Production fees to support the fruition of future projects! Our projects are self-financed – the glamorous world of being an artist means we are also master fundraisers and bookkeepers! To date we have received local and national support from a range of arts, culture and film charities, including Cinema for All, Heritage Lottery Fund, Peabody Culture and Bow Arts Trust. The funding climate is competitive, and we cannot rely on public grants alone. In order to be financially sustainable, we are seeking support from our local community. Get in touch if you can help!
